Proper hydration is paramount to good health. We should all drink high-quality filtered or spring water throughout the day. Water should be consumed more between meals than during, and the water should not be too cold so it does not interfere with digestion.

A good benchmark is to drink at least half of your weight in ounces per day. I typically start each day with a glass of room temperature water to get my system moving and then continue drinking throughout the day.

Staying hydrated helps us by decreasing fatigue, alleviating aches and pains, increasing energy levels, recognize hunger signals, and relieves constipation.

My anti-inflammatory water recipe takes water to the next level because it includes several health-promoting ingredients, such as turmeric, ginger, lemon, cayenne, and raw apple cider vinegar. If you wish, you could make a large bottle of this to drink throughout the week but I typically fill a water bottle with a new batch each day. I then sip it throughout the day, in addition to my plain water intake.

Anti-Inflammatory Water Recipe Ingredients

Keep these few ingredients on-hand so you can make a new batch of anti-inflammatory water each day!

Turmeric

Turmeric and its active ingredient curcumin are known as nature’s ibuprofen. They work to decrease chronic inflammation in the body.

Ginger

Ginger and it’s active constituent gingerols may decrease inflammation and promote good digestion while diminishing nausea

Lemon

Lemon adds good flavor to the water while boosting vitamin c levels and improving digestion

Cayenne

Cayenne contains metabolism-boosting properties and aids in the absorption of the curcumin in turmeric.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

ACV improves digestion and is shown to lower blood sugar levels. As mentioned in my list of Clean Eating Pantry Staples, please be sure to purchase raw, with the “mother.”

Give my anti-inflammatory water recipe a whirl and then let me know what you think!
